Welcome to Friday, where every moment in Mauritius should feel as uplifting as the start of a weekend.
We're passionate about creating unforgettable island experiences, from the moment you book your stay to the day you check out. We carefully curate residences to ensure comfort, style, and a sense of home, no matter how far you've travelled.
Founded in 2023 in Mauritius, Friday is a small team in Flic en Flac and Grand Baie. Our focus stays on you, the guest. With deep local knowledge and a personalised approach, we go beyond standard holiday rentals to curate memorable getaways.
A curated selection of accommodations.
Most rentals are anonymous. Ours aren't.
Friday is run by a small team based in Mauritius. We answer your messages, we make arrivals easy, we know the people who fix things. What we promise:
Same-day replies
Usually within an hour, daylight hours Mauritius. From a real person.
Honest recommendations
We'll tell you if a residence is wrong for your group, and which restaurants are tourist traps.
A welcome pack
Water, snacks, toiletries, fresh linen. Enough to skip the shop on day one. Self-service after that, but you won't need us on arrival.
Local specialists
Pool, plumbing, electrical, AC, Wi-Fi. If something goes wrong, we triage it quickly and coordinate the right person.
One concierge thread
From booking to checkout, the same small team. One thread, no ticketing systems, no being passed around.
Local knowledge
Experiences we've tried, restaurants we return to, and advice shaped around your stay.
Clear pricing
The price breakdown is shown before you submit a request. Any date or supplier change is explained before confirmation.

Where to go, what we'd actually do.
We live here. These are the spots we send friends to: restaurants, beaches, drives, days out. The full list lives in the journal; here's a starting six.
Day tripÎle aux Bénitiers
A flat sandy island twenty minutes off the south-west coast. Best done by catamaran from La Gaulette. Leave early, swim with dolphins on the way.
BeachTamarin Bay
Black sand at sunset, surfers from June to September, the salt pans behind. Eat at La Madrague, drink at Big Willy's.
HikeBlack River Gorges
The largest national park on the island. The Macchabée trail to the viewpoint takes two hours and rewards you with the entire south-west coast.
DriveChamarel
The Seven Coloured Earths, the rum distillery, the curious waterfall. A morning drive from Flic en Flac, lunch at Le Chamarel restaurant.
Day tripÎle aux Cerfs
East coast lagoon island, the postcard one. Go off-peak (avoid Sundays), take the speedboat from Trou d'Eau Douce.
CityPort Louis · central market
The capital is rough-edged and lively. Go for the central market, dholl puri at Place Foch, and the Blue Penny Museum.
Six reasons people keep coming back.
A small island in the south-west Indian Ocean with year-round warmth, a coral lagoon ringing most of the coast, and a culture that genuinely welcomes visitors.
Island weather
Warm year-round, with wetter summer months and cooler trade-wind winters. Tropical systems can disrupt travel, so check official alerts before setting out.
A protected lagoon
Reefs shelter many beaches and often make shore-entry snorkelling possible. Conditions vary by coast and day, so always follow local signs.
Straightforward to plan
Entry requirements depend on your passport and itinerary. Check them with the Mauritius Passport and Immigration Office, and confirm current schedules with your airline.
Genuinely multicultural
Creole, French, English, Bhojpuri. Spoken on the same street. Food, festivals, and people reflect it.
Compact to explore
Many beaches, villages, and parks work as day trips. Driving time depends on traffic, route, and weather.
Nature, properly
Black River Gorges, Île aux Aigrettes, the Seven Coloured Earths. World-class diving, kitesurfing, and hiking.
“Quietly located but near all amenities and the beach, this is an excellent place to stay. The host is super responsive, the house layout spacious, uncluttered and simple yet satisfying decor and everything works. Have stayed in many Flic en Flac properties and this is easily the best.”
